He Whetu Arataki Youth Leadership Program

Tēnā Koūtou katoa,

We have postponed the “He Whetu Arataki” leadership program due to start tomorrow the 23rd of April.  Unfortunately we only had a couple of whānau show interest.  The next He Whetu Arataki will be set for the 16th and 17th of July.

The  program is focused on developing, growing and supporting Ngāti Hauiti  youth aged between 14 – 18 years old.   The following are key components we use to structure each noho:

  • Hauititanga: Implementing tools given to participate and grow confidents culturally as Ngāti Hauiti. Through historical korero, whakapapa, whenua, Haka, Waiata and Pātere.
  • Kotahitanga: Strengthening themselves as individuals and as a group.
  • Rangatiratanga: Identifying leader in themselves and around them.
  • Manaakitanga: Strengthening and supporting each other and themselves
  • Whanaungatanga: Concreting firm relationships with peers and whanau.

If you would like more information or to discuss your teenager taking part in the program then contact
