He Whetu Arataki Youth Leadership Program

Tēnā Koūtou katoa,

We have postponed the “He Whetu Arataki” leadership program due to start tomorrow the 23rd of April.  Unfortunately we only had a couple of whānau show interest.  The next He Whetu Arataki will be set for the 16^th and 17^th of July. 

The  program is focused on developing, growing and supporting Ngāti Hauiti  youth aged between 14 – 18 years old.   The following are key components we use to structure each noho:

• Hauititanga: Implementing tools given to participate and grow confidents culturally as Ngāti Hauiti. Through historical korero, whakapapa, whenua, Haka, Waiata and Pātere.
• Kotahitanga: Strengthening themselves as individuals and as a group.
• Rangatiratanga: Identifying leader in themselves and around them.
• Manaakitanga: Strengthening and supporting each other and themselves
• Whanaungatanga: Concreting firm relationships with peers and whanau.
